Lotte Bio Signs Business Agreement with Roche Diagnostics to 'Advance CDMO Business'
Plans for Multifaceted Collaboration Including Production Process Design System Development and Technical Consulting
Lotte Biologics announced on the 9th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Roche Diagnostics, the diagnostics division of the global healthcare company Roche Group, to advance its contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) business.

View original imageThe MOU, held in Pentzberg where Roche Diagnostics' CustomBiotech center is located, was pursued with the aim of establishing a cooperative relationship to enhance Lotte Biologics' pharmaceutical productivity and quality. The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Won-jik, CEO of Lotte Biologics, Rainer Miller, Vice President of Roche Diagnostics CustomBiotech, and Kit Tang, CEO of Roche Diagnostics Korea.
According to the agreement, both companies will collaborate in various areas including hardware and automation system construction, technical consulting, and equipment support for the production process design of Lotte Biologics' domestic mega plant. Additionally, they will prepare educational programs to facilitate the smooth operation of the Bio Venture Initiative planned to be established within the domestic mega plant complex, supporting bio ventures in creating a platform for technology development cooperation.

Lee Won-jik, CEO of Lotte Biologics, stated, "Through this MOU, we plan to strengthen the production process capabilities of our domestic mega plant together with Roche Diagnostics," adding, "With the synergy of Roche Diagnostics, a global leader in the in vitro diagnostics field, we will operate the domestic mega plant smoothly to improve work efficiency while meeting the needs of our clients."
