Park Beom-gye "Jamboree Disruption, Make Up with BTS? Is This a Military State?"
Democratic Party Lawmaker Park Beom-gye CBS Radio Interview
"Do They Have the Authority to Appear BTS Members Serving in the Military?"
Seong Il-jong, a member of the People Power Party, suggested mobilizing the group BTS for the K-pop concert at the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree. In response, Park Beom-gye of the Democratic Party raised his voice, saying, "Is it really a matter that can be redeemed by having BTS perform?"
On the 9th, Park appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said, "Do they really have the authority and qualification to have two soldiers currently in service perform?"
He continued, "Their role is to fulfill their national defense duties through physical and mental efforts," adding, "Why try to forcibly mobilize their skills, talents, or entertainment abilities for something like this?"
He then criticized, "I think this is truly an outrageous situation that is no different from a military state."
Regarding the ruling party blaming the previous government for the Jamboree fiasco, Park said, "The issues were related to heatwave measures like shade structures, food problems, meal issues, unsanitary restrooms, and various other problems," and questioned, "Preparing for this doesn't take five or four years, does it?"

He added, "It's been one year and three months since this government took office, so what have they been doing during that time?" and said, "If you blame others and the previous government, do you expect the public to accept that the previous government is at fault? That doesn't make sense."
