Emergency Relief Supplies Worth 10 Million Won Including Ice Vests
Daegu City announced on the 6th that it will provide emergency relief supplies worth approximately 10 million won to ensure the health and safety of participants during the ongoing heatwave throughout the Jeonbuk Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree, which runs until the 12th.
This event is the first large-scale international youth event since COVID-19, with about 40,000 participants from over 150 countries, held in Jeonbuk Saemangeum from the 1st until August 12th.
Amid rising concerns about the health of participants due to the continuous heatwave causing numerous heat-related illnesses during the event, the government held a meeting with representatives from various countries on the 5th and decided to continue the event without interruption.
Accordingly, Daegu City plans to provide emergency relief supplies worth approximately 10 million won, including ice vests and bottled water, to participants exhausted by the heat, supporting the safe completion of the jamboree.
