Aegis Asset Management Secures Data Competitiveness by Internalizing Nationwide Building Data
Aegis Asset Management is internalizing a nationwide building database. This lays the foundation to enhance real estate management competitiveness based on data.
Aegis Asset Management announced on the 4th that it has completed the internalization of nationwide building data as the first task of the 'Aegis Building Database (BDDB) Project,' which began in January.
The goal of this project is to build nationwide real estate information into Aegis Asset Management's database and develop various functions and tools for real estate management operations.
As the first step, Aegis Asset Management internalized standard real estate data provided by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety into the company's database. This eliminates the need to frequently request data from these ministries.
Additionally, by utilizing the internal database, data can be separately searched by setting criteria for various purposes. For example, with simple criteria settings, one can view buildings in Seoul with a total floor area of over 10,000㎡.
The key data of the constructed buildings include address, latitude and longitude, floor area ratio and building coverage ratio, area, height, number of parking spaces, and more. Furthermore, energy usage information such as electricity and gas is also secured to be used for eco-friendly investments.
Aegis Asset Management launched the Aegis Data Lab (D-Lab) last year to analyze various data generated within the company and enhance decision-making capabilities. D-Lab promoted the BDDB project as one of the tasks to accelerate the company's Digital Transformation.

An Aegis Asset Management official said, “We are striving to increase the service scalability of the BDDB project and secure new data sources. Based on the constructed database, we will develop various work tools that can enhance digital intelligence in real estate management.”
