An accident occurred at an amusement park in Dangjin-si, Chungnam, where an 85m-high Ferris wheel suddenly stopped.

View original imageAccording to the Dangjin Fire Station on the 1st, at around 7:23 PM that day, a report was received that "the Ferris wheel stopped" at Sapgyoho Amusement Park located in Sinpyeong-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungnam.
According to fire officials, when the Ferris wheel stopped, the amusement park staff activated the emergency generator and rotated the Ferris wheel to evacuate the passengers.
Subsequently, the fire authorities who responded to the report rescued an additional nine passengers who were trapped on the Ferris wheel.
The passengers trapped on the Ferris wheel in the heat were all rescued by 7:49 PM, 26 minutes after the report, and it is known that no one was injured during the rescue process.
The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident, believing that the Ferris wheel stopped due to a power outage.
