Studio Dragon, First in Domestic Drama Production Industry to Release 'Sustainability Report'
Drama Production with Social Values like 'The Glory'
"Leading the Creation of a Sustainable K-Drama Ecosystem"
Studio Dragon has published the first sustainability report in the domestic drama production industry. On the 1st, Studio Dragon stated, "Based on the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) mission of 'Creating a more valuable world through premium storytelling,' we have published a sustainability report," adding, "Following the growth of the drama industry through the introduction of the country's first studio model, we plan to play a leading role in sustainable management as well."
The report introduced Studio Dragon's major dramas that embody social values represented by DEI. The company plans to increase the production of dramas containing social values such as Our Blues, Mine, and The Glory. It also includes efforts to reduce waste generated during the installation and dismantling of filming sets. In 2021, Studio Dragon signed a business agreement with Mungyeong City and transformed a 2,294㎡ waste site into an open set for the drama Alchemy of Souls. After filming, the site was utilized as a tourist destination offering local specialty product sales and drama experience spaces. The sets and various props used in the upcoming drama Ask the Stars are also planned to be utilized as tourism and exhibition resources.
The report also covers activities following the establishment of an internal safety management team last year. Safety management campaigns, including "safety awareness enhancement activities" and a "reward and penalty system," are being conducted for all external production companies participating in the company's projects, as well as for partners involved in sets, props, and lighting. Sites that comply with safety regulations are selected and quarterly awards are given to production companies and outstanding staff. Prior to the report's publication, Studio Dragon also obtained the ISO14001 certification, an international environmental management standard and a key indicator for ESG management, from the British Standards Institution in June.
