Jamboree Youth Explore Gochang Tourist Attractions Including Dolmen Museum
From the 31st of last month to the 1st of this month, about 500 youth participants of the World Scout Jamboree visited Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, to explore tourist attractions.
According to the county on the 1st, this pre-Jamboree program involved youth from four countries (Canada, Iceland, Paraguay, Poland) visiting Gochang Eupseong Fortress, Dolmen sites, Ungok Ramsar Wetlands, and Sangha Farm, where they engaged in various experiences and fell in love with the charms of Gochang-gun.
In particular, the residents of Gochang showed warm interest by cheering on the passing children and handing out ice water to help them cope with the hot weather, celebrating the festival of youth from around the world.
Starting from the 2nd, the main Jamboree off-site activities will begin in earnest. Approximately 10,000 Jamboree youth from 79 countries worldwide will visit Gochang Eupseong Fortress and Seonunsa Temple to participate in various programs such as castle and temple trekking, traditional cultural experiences like tea ceremonies and crafts, forest adventures, and the Eupseong Award.
County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “Along with the tourism program for the Jamboree youth, we will take this opportunity to showcase the beauty of Gochang to the world through the eight-day off-site activity program held in Gochang.”
