Therapy Product Developed by the Military Itself Draws Visitors' Attention

The "Island of Marine Healing," Wando County, participated in the "2023 Local Content Festa" held at the Suncheon Bay Ecological Education Center to promote the Wando Marine Healing Center, which is set to open next month, and the marine healing industry.

According to the county on the 1st, the Festa, a communication platform for local content, attracted participation from local governments, universities, and companies interested in local content planning, production, and consumption.

Wando County showcased marine healing therapy products developed independently by the county, such as a sports cream containing Wando kelp, which helps improve healthy skin and blood circulation, and packs containing Wando seaweed and natural mud that are effective in removing waste, drawing the attention of visitors.

The marine healing therapy products will be used at the Marine Healing Center, which is equipped with 16 healing therapy facilities utilizing marine healing resources such as seawater, mudflats, and seaweed, including a thalasso pool, meditation pool, and seaweed foam and mud therapy rooms.

An Hwan-ok, the marine healing officer, stated, "With the opening of the Wando Marine Healing Center and the grand opening of public facilities approaching, we will do our utmost to promote and advance the marine healing industry so that Wando's marine healing industry can thrive."

Meanwhile, Wando County is fostering "marine healing," a health promotion activity that uses the marine environment and marine resources to heal the body and mind, as a key project.

Since being designated as a leading local government for the marine healing industry in 2017, it has built various public facilities such as the Marine Climate Healing Center, Marine Culture Healing Center, and Marine Healing Park, and is accelerating preparations for the operation of the core facility, the Wando Marine Healing Center.

Currently, the Marine Climate Healing and Marine Culture Healing Centers are operating marine healing programs under the theme "Summer Rest."
