Honam University, Electric Vehicle Maintenance Practical Training for Employees
The Department of Future Automotive Engineering at Honam University conducted practical training on electric vehicle maintenance for current employees at the Imagination Workshop on the 28th of last month.
This training was the fifth session of employee competency enhancement education conducted by the Regional Innovation Platform Project Group. Supported by the project group, it was held for 23 participants from 18 companies affiliated with the Gwangju Metropolitan City Automobile Inspection and Maintenance Cooperative.
The Gwangju Metropolitan City Automobile Inspection and Maintenance Cooperative contributes to the establishment and development of a sound automobile maintenance culture, protecting the rights and interests of its members and providing education. Currently, about 200 maintenance companies and 48 comprehensive inspection companies are registered with the cooperative.
On the day of the training, Professor Son Byeong-rae of Honam University’s Department of Future Automotive Engineering covered topics including the structure and basic principles of electric vehicles, high-voltage cutoff procedures for safe electric vehicle maintenance, and the use of automotive diagnostic equipment.

Professor Son said, “Providing safe electric vehicle maintenance training to active mechanics and inspectors is very important. Since there are many differences in maintenance methods compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles, I will continue to strive to offer educational opportunities to local employees in the future.”
