"Full Launch of the Local Era Ensuring Equal Opportunities Regardless of Where You Live"

Jindo County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 1st that it held a special lecture on the theme of "Vision and Strategy for the New Local Era" by inviting Lee Jeong-hyun, Vice Chairman of the Local Era Committee, on the 31st of last month.

The Local Era Committee was launched directly under the President on the 10th of last month to resolve regional imbalances and realize a livable local era through autonomous development tailored to regional characteristics and local autonomy and decentralization.

This lecture, aimed at all former public officials of Jindo County, was conducted to understand the government's vision and strategy for the local era and to strengthen county administration capabilities in preparation for the new local era.

It also presented a new paradigm shift from the past "centralized balanced development" to "local-led decentralized balanced development," explaining the necessity of transitioning to new leadership based on fairness and common sense and local-led decentralized balanced development.

In particular, it emphasized the opportunity development special zones that mobilize bold support measures such as regulatory innovation related to corporate investment and revolutionary tax incentives to attract large-scale investments, relocate companies to local areas, and create quality jobs.

Vice Chairman Lee Jeong-hyun said, "The goal of the new local era is to enhance local competitiveness and improve residents' quality of life through autonomous decentralization and balanced development," adding, "In the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's local era, the will of local governments and the strengthening of public officials' capabilities are important."

County Governor Kim Hee-soo stated, "It is necessary to understand the government's policy direction in line with the new local era and to develop effective policies for regional balanced development," and added, "We will actively respond to the vision and strategy of the new local era, including opportunity development special zones and the establishment of a local innovation ecosystem."
