If confirmed as an emergency welfare support recipient after phone counseling, support funds are provided within 72 hours
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) is operating a welfare counseling hotline that enables quick consultation and support anytime and anywhere to eliminate welfare blind spots.
This is the 'Mapo Welfare Counseling Center,' where a single phone call resolves everything from welfare counseling to rapid emergency support.
An official from the district explained, "As incidents and accidents in welfare blind spots continue, the need to strengthen the welfare safety net has increased. Although the district operates various welfare networks, we have additionally established and are operating a welfare counseling hotline to ensure easy consultation and prompt support anytime and anywhere."
When calling the Mapo Welfare Counseling Center, social welfare officers provide emergency counseling and connect callers with available services in cooperation with the local community center. For services requiring the applicant's own application, separate procedures are guided.
After initial consultation by phone, if it is confirmed that the caller qualifies for emergency welfare support, the decision and notification of support are made within 24 hours, and emergency welfare funds are provided within 72 hours.
In fact, in January, Mr. Kim, who faced sudden unemployment and difficulties in reemployment, was able to quickly receive emergency welfare living expenses and fuel costs after consulting with the Mapo Welfare Counseling Center.
Additionally, over the past six months, 21 Mapo-gu residents have received support for emergency living expenses, housing costs, medical expenses, and more through the Mapo Welfare Counseling Center.
The Mapo Welfare Counseling Center operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. For nights and holidays, counseling requests can be made through the 120 Dasan Call Center, and phone counseling is provided the next day (excluding holidays).
The district also posted usage information boards at 289 local businesses such as hospitals, pharmacies, convenience stores, neighborhood shops, and goshiwon to make it easier for more residents to use the counseling center.
