The village welfare plan is a plan established for residents to directly discover welfare issues in their village, seek solutions, and implement them. Seo-gu formed task forces for 18 neighborhoods during the first half of the year and conducted village welfare leader training, resident needs surveys, workshops, and more.
Additionally, each neighborhood established specialized village welfare plans reflecting the characteristics of the area based on the neighborhood BI and the results of the resident needs surveys.
The village welfare plans established through this process consist of 78 projects, which are expected to provide support amounting to 209 million KRW to more than 3,300 beneficiaries.
In Hyomaeul Yangdong, projects such as making Baram rice cakes for elderly living alone will be carried out; in Nanummal Sangmu 2-dong, projects like sharing fresh kimchi and adding Jeong Dubae; in Kkotmaeul Hwajeong 3-dong, projects such as making nameplates for old apartment entrance doors titled “Flowers in the Heart, Flowers on the Door”; and in Chaekmaeul Dongcheon-dong, projects like “Visiting Elderly Book Friends” will be promoted using the village BI to address marginalized groups and blind spots in care within the village.
Seo-gu held an exhibition in the district office lobby introducing the welfare vision and village welfare plan projects for each neighborhood and distributed storybooks.
Mayor Kim Ikang of Seo-gu said, “We will actively support the successful implementation of the village welfare plans established by residents to discover and solve welfare issues in their villages. We will work even harder with resident welfare activists to provide warm welfare services as ‘Welfare Seo-gu by Your Side,’ becoming another family to the residents.”
