In particular, they will provide practice facilities for Park Golf Management students to receive hands-on training, operate and organize a high-quality curriculum, and work together to ensure that the park golf education program, newly established in Gumi, becomes a healthy sports culture for seniors and opens a new chapter of lifelong learning for adult learners.
Yeungjin College’s Department of Park Golf Management, which is the first in the nation to open a department related to park golf and has received positive responses from adult learners, will open the Park Golf Management department and senior class for adult learners in the Gumi area in the 2024 academic year.
The senior class, established at the Gumi Education Center (Sinpyeong-dong, Gyeongbuk Industry-Academia Convergence Center) of the college, is a two-year associate degree regular education program targeting high school graduates or higher, including farmers, merchants, office workers, and business owners. It provides education not only in park golf theory and practice but also in a wide range of practical liberal arts subjects such as computer skills, real estate, accounting and taxation, financial management, current affairs, and economics.
Jo Jin-seok, head of the Department of Park Golf Management at Yeungjin College, said, “As we enter the second year since the department’s establishment, we are feeling the social demand for park golf. Especially as park golf becomes more popular in Gumi City, we will open a regular education program for seniors in Gumi next year. Through the Park Golf Senior Class, adult learners will be able to meet, learn, communicate, and energetically open the second chapter of their lives.”
