2PM Lee Junho's Malicious Commenter Fined 3 Million KRW for Defamation
A malicious commenter who left harmful comments on Lee Junho, a singer and actor under the entertainment agency JYP Entertainment, has been sentenced to a fine.
According to JYP Entertainment on the 28th, the Seoul District Court recently sentenced Mr. A to a fine of 3 million KRW for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation). JYP Entertainment filed a complaint against Mr. A for leaving malicious comments on Lee Junho, a member of the group 2PM and an actor under their agency.
The court stated, "Mr. A harbored grievances against Mr. Lee on an online community and repeatedly posted false information. By doing so, Mr. A publicly defamed the victim’s honor by stating false facts through the information and communications network with the intent to slander Mr. Lee."

JYP Entertainment said, "We are strengthening our monitoring routes and have additionally appointed multiple law firms as legal representatives to respond strongly. We will continue to take strict measures without leniency against the spread of baseless false information and malicious posts about our artists."
