Gominjeong: "Idonggwan, a Corruption Gift Set... Must Be Dismissed Immediately"
President Yoon Suk-yeol is expected to appoint Lee Dong-gwan, the President's Special Advisor for External Cooperation, as the chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, which is currently vacant, possibly as early as the 28th. Meanwhile, Ko Min-jung, a Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, raised her voice, saying, "This special advisor is a 'comprehensive corruption gift set,'" and demanded his immediate dismissal from the special advisor position.
On the 28th, Ko stated on her social media, "There has been a report confirming through a court ruling that the wife of this special advisor, who is being mentioned as the next chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, was found to have been subject to an 'attempted personnel solicitation.'"

However, this explanation is unsatisfactory," adding, "because Park Jae-wan, the Blue House Chief of State Planning, attended an event hosted by the person who attempted the personnel solicitation two months later and even gave a congratulatory speech."
She continued, "This special advisor's controversies include his son's school violence issue, his own media surveillance, and now his wife's alleged solicitation. It seems like a 'comprehensive corruption gift set' of misconduct that high-ranking officials might have committed," and criticized, "Despite all this, does he still hold the special advisor position because of President Yoon's boundless affection?"

Ko stated, "Considering the issues that have come out so far, this special advisor should have stepped down from his position. It is already a 'third strike,'" and urged, "President Yoon should immediately dismiss this special advisor and nominate a candidate for the chairman of the Korea Communications Commission who can protect the independence of the broadcasting sector."
