Yeongdeok-gun Holds 'Visiting Social Economy Briefing Session'
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the '2023 Yeongdeok-gun Regional Specialized Project Visiting Social Economy Briefing Session' on the 25th at the Lohas Seafood Food Support Center's main conference room.
Hosted by the Gyeongbuk Social Economy Support Center, this briefing session provided a comprehensive explanation of the social economy and practical lectures on the requirements for establishing corporations and certification procedures for designation as preliminary social enterprises, village enterprises, and cooperatives, enhancing the understanding of residents interested in social enterprises.
Starting with this briefing session, Yeongdeok-gun plans to implement various projects in the second half of the year to revitalize the social economy, including a social economy academy, social enterprise consulting, and social economy experience programs to discover social enterprises.
Since last year through this year, the county has been selected for public projects and is focusing on discovering customized social enterprises reflecting regional characteristics, system improvement, social enterprise education, and discovering best practices to build infrastructure for fostering the social economy.
Lee Tae-ho, Director of the Job Economy Division, stated, “Social enterprises, village enterprises, and cooperatives will strengthen jobs in the local economy,” adding, “This briefing session is expected to contribute to increasing the certification rate of social enterprises in the county and job creation by leading the discovery of new models and the transition of preliminary enterprises to social enterprise certification.”

He continued, “We will continue to make our best efforts so that companies in the region with a weak corporate base can establish themselves through various job-related projects.”
