Gwangju Dong-gu Supports Vulnerable Groups for a Healthy Summer
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, delivered 'summer supply packages' to residents of the jjokbangchon (small room village).
They provided items to prevent heat-related illnesses, such as fans, nutritional supplements, bottled water, and instant food, to 100 residents living in vulnerable housing environments like motels and inns.
This was prepared to support the jjokbangchon residents who are suffering from the dual hardships of early heatwaves and heavy rain to stay safe and healthy during the summer.
Im Taek, the head of Dong-gu, personally visited the jjokbang where residents with mobility difficulties live to check on their well-being.
