Shinhan Financial Group Publishes 2022 ESG Report
This is the 18th time, the highest among domestic financial companies
Shinhan Financial Group announced on the 26th that it has published the '2022 ESG Report,' which discloses the group's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activities and related data from last year. This is the 18th time Shinhan Financial has released an ESG report, the highest number among domestic financial companies.
Along with this report, Shinhan Financial also published the '2021 ESG Highlights,' a storytelling-focused summary, last February. To strengthen communication with stakeholders, it is the only domestic financial company to disclose ESG-related reports twice a year.
This report includes a special report addressing key ESG issues such as climate-related financial disclosures (TCFD), biodiversity, social value measurement, human rights, and diversity. Additionally, by utilizing the recently completed ESG data platform, the scope of quantitative data reporting has been expanded from the previous 8 major group affiliates to all 15 group affiliates.
Jin Ok-dong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, stated, “The 2022 ESG Report covers more detailed and extensive content by actively utilizing the system we proactively established in preparation for the expansion of ESG-related disclosures, including the ESG data platform.” He added, “Shinhan Financial will foster a progressive ESG culture through various sincere ESG efforts and by raising awareness among employees.”
