Jindo-gun Selected for Jeonnam-type Balanced Development 300 Project Public Contest

Secured 30 Billion KRW Including 18 Billion KRW Subsidy for the 'Jingyeong (珍景) - Jindo Sanhaedo Gyeong Project'

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been finally selected for the ‘Jingyeong-Jindo Sanhaedo-gyeong Project’ in the ‘Jeonnam-type Balanced Development 300 Project’ contest hosted by Jeollanam-do.

According to the county on the 25th, the ‘Jingyeong Project’ will be promoted for four years from next year to 2027, with a total project cost of 30 billion KRW, including 18 billion KRW of provincial funds, in the Hoedong Tourist Area.

The county plans to create a landmark facility by combining Jindo-gun’s excellent cultural and artistic resources with the Jindo Mysterious Sea Road Festival on the site of the aging Hongju House facility in the Hoedong Tourist Area.

In addition, the youth training center will be remodeled into a youth welcome center where young cultural artists and technicians gather, creating future growth engines and jobs for the region and responding to the risk of regional extinction by attracting young populations.

In particular, the newly established Hongjuheon (tentative name) will feature a performance hall that fuses the essence of Jindo’s culture and arts with cutting-edge media art, and will create a mysterious sky road unfolding over the mysterious sea road using media technology.

This plan aims to upgrade not only the tourism industry but also Jindo’s comparative advantage resources in culture and arts to the next level.

Meanwhile, the youth training center, which was completed 25 years ago, will be utilized to create a workation camp base where young people can combine work and leisure with future technology and marine technology.

In the nearby Gakae Beach area, a Gakae Beach Store space for youth startups will be installed to expand tourism convenience facilities, induce the inflow of young people from outside the region, and support startups of local youth.
