Park Sung-min "Was the impeachment really that wrong... The Presidential Office will be the one to face stern judgment"
The National Assembly filed an impeachment motion against Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, holding him responsible for the Itaewon incident, but on the 25th, the Constitutional Court dismissed it. In response, the Presidential Office criticized, saying, "The major opposition party abused the right to impeach." Former Democratic Party Supreme Council member Park Seong-min raised his voice, saying, "It is the Presidential Office that will face stern judgment."
On the 25th, Park, on his social media (SNS), said, "President Yoon Seok-yeol and the Presidential Office should first learn to feel shame."
Earlier, the Presidential Office criticized the Constitutional Court's dismissal of Minister Lee's impeachment motion, calling it "an abuse of the right to impeach that does not meet the purpose and requirements" and warned, "The major opposition party's abuse of the right to impeach will face stern judgment from the people."
However, former Supreme Council member Park pointed out, "It is the selective justice of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration that will face stern judgment," adding, "Despite causing numerous casualties, they were busy covering for Minister Lee, who failed to fulfill his duties as the person responsible for disaster safety management, rather than dismissing him."
He raised his voice, saying, "While they could not properly issue a statement regarding the case where the president's mother-in-law was legally imprisoned for forging a large balance certificate, they reacted with lightning speed to the impeachment case of Minister Lee Sang-min."
