Free Taxi and Shuttle Bus Service in Flood-Affected Areas of Yeongju, Bonghwa, Yecheon, and Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk
"Hope to Be Helpful to Affected Residents"
Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 24th that it will implement transportation support measures to help residents of the northern Gyeongbuk region, who suffered significant damage from the heavy rain that began on the 13th, recover their daily lives quickly and minimize transportation inconveniences.
This support was decided based on the judgment that proactive measures at the provincial level are necessary to provide safe and convenient transportation for residents of Gyeongbuk who are experiencing transportation difficulties due to road closures caused by the heavy rain.
A private technical support team is conducting an on-site survey using drone footage to restore a small stream in the Gyeongbuk area affected by flooding.

The Mungyeong area will be addressed after an additional demand survey.
Three transportation-related organizations?the Chartered Bus Association, the Private Taxi Association, and the Automobile Maintenance Association?will collaborate with Gyeongbuk Province to provide transportation support to residents by offering free shuttle bus and taxi services as well as free vehicle inspection services in the affected areas to alleviate transportation inconveniences for the residents.
Transportation convenience support for residents in flood-affected areas will be carried out first from the 22nd to the 27th, with plans to expand support later based on local conditions such as road closures.
