Jongno-gu (Mayor Jeong Munheon) is seeking diverse and distinctive SNS content that can promote the charm of Jongno both domestically and internationally.
The district is holding the ‘Jongno-gu SNS Content Contest’ from July 17 to August 31.
The theme is set as ‘Together with Jongno-gu~! Everything about Jongno-gu!’ Participants are invited to create and submit ▲emoticons ▲insta-toons ▲reels (short-form videos) based on Jongno’s history, region, cultural resources, and figures. The contest aims to award outstanding works, communicate closely with residents, and enhance the district’s brand value.
For the ‘Emoticon’ category, participants can create character images representing SNS using elements such as Bosingak Bell Pavilion, King Sejong, Admiral Yi Sun-sin, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Gwanghwamun.
The ‘Insta-toon’ category involves producing content featuring the district’s representative SNS channels (blog, Instagram, KakaoTalk), introducing Jongno Tong, promoting policies, or freely themed topics related to Jongno.
The ‘Reels (short-form)’ category allows free expression through vlogs, challenges, dramas, or documentaries on topics such as major local attractions, places worth visiting, entertainment, K-Culture, and Jongno tourism.
Anyone interested can apply individually or as a team, with no limit on the number of submissions. Each piece of content must have been created between January of this year and the submission deadline of August 31. Detailed submission specifications and other information can be found in the announcement on the district office website.
After receiving submissions, the district will form a judging panel to evaluate suitability, usability, originality, professionalism, and interest to select the first-round finalists. The second round will be conducted through online voting on the first-round selected works. Participants in the online voting will be entered into a draw to receive coffee coupons.
The final winners will be announced in September. A total of 18 individuals (teams) will be selected, awarding 1 million KRW each for the best prize in each category, 700,000 KRW each for two excellence prizes, and 500,000 KRW each for three encouragement prizes, totaling 11.7 million KRW in prize money and certificates. Inquiries about the contest can be directed to the Public Relations and Media Communication Team.
