Kick-off Meeting for Public Design Promotion Plan Establishment Project Held on the 14th
Focus on Establishing a Plan Reflecting Regional Characteristics and Cultural Conditions
Includes CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) and Universal Design
Yongsan-gu (Mayor Park Hee-young) held a kick-off meeting on the 14th to promote the ‘Yongsan-gu Public Design Promotion Plan and Guideline Establishment Project.’
The plan will present a vision for public design and mid- to long-term strategies reflecting regional characteristics and cultural conditions, and establish implementation measures.
The district is facing new changes such as the international business district, the creation of Yongsan Park, and large-scale urban environment improvements. Public facilities and public spaces that residents encounter in daily life also require new public design standards that meet the changing urban environment and residents’ demands.
This project will include ▲status investigation and analysis ▲setting basic directions and goals ▲establishing a comprehensive plan and phased implementation plans ▲developing guidelines for the promotion of public design in Yongsan-gu.
In particular, the public design guidelines will incorporate CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) and Universal Design (design for all people), laying the groundwork for creating a safer and better urban environment.
Starting with this kick-off meeting, the district plans to gather residents’ opinions and external expert advice to establish a highly complete public design promotion plan.

Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “With new changes in the urban environment ahead, expectations for public design have greatly increased,” adding, “We will actively reflect the opinions of various people to create a dignified and happy Yongsan.”
