Citizen Participation Suwon Community Radio 'SoneFM' Launches on the 13th

Suwon City announced on the 14th that the citizen-participation type Suwon community radio "Sone FM (Son:FM)" has opened its doors at the Maesan-dong Moduda Eoullim Center.
The frequency is FM 96.3 MHz, and the main listening area is within a 5 km radius centered around Samil Technical High School, the transmission site (covering Paldal-gu and Jangan-gu areas). It can also be heard in parts of Yeongtong-gu and Gwonseon-gu. Broadcasting runs daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Local residents take the lead in producing and broadcasting programs on various topics such as local information, culture, and music. People from diverse groups including children, adolescents, and seniors participate to promote local commercial districts, and the station plans to continuously deliver local news in collaboration with related departments of Suwon City.

Lee Jae-jun, mayor of Suwon City, said, "There are many ways for people to communicate, but one of the most classic and romantic is radio," adding, "I hope citizens will come together and have many discussions by utilizing the radio as a communication space."
