Gangseo-gu Launches Water Play-Type Water Facilities in Parks
Operating 8 Ground Fountains, Starting Operation of 1 Children's Water Playground from the 18th
Daily Facility Inspections and Water Quality Tests Every 15 Days
Gangseo-gu, Seoul announced that it will fully operate water play-type water facilities to cool down the hot summer heat.
Water playgrounds and ground fountains are very popular among children in summer as they allow them to enjoy refreshing water play in nearby parks without having to go far.
The district conducted safety inspections and water quality tests for the operation of water play-type water facilities and completed preliminary checks through trial operation.
The 8 ground fountains started operation first to welcome the summer season.
The ground fountains at ▲Balsan Neighborhood Park ▲Hanmaeum Children's Park ▲Beotgeo Children's Park ▲Hwagok 3 District 1 Children's Park ▲Saessak Children's Traffic Park ▲Gayang-dong Cultural Park ▲Yeomchang-dong Plaza operate daily from 1:00 PM to 5:50 PM, running for 40 to 50 minutes every hour on the hour.
The ground fountain at Hwagok 2 District 2 Children's Park operates on weekdays from 2:00 PM to 4:50 PM, running for 40 to 50 minutes every hour on the hour.
The children's water playground at Bongjesan Solar Plaza, which is equipped with a combination play structure and is the most popular among children, will start operation from the 18th.
The water playground operates daily from 1:00 PM to 5:50 PM every hour on the hour for 40 to 50 minutes, except on Mondays when it is closed.
Additionally, the ground fountain at Banghwa Neighborhood Park and the water playground at Yesol Children's Park, which are currently under maintenance, are scheduled to start operation from the 25th after repairs. However, all water facilities will not operate during rainy weather to prevent safety accidents.

A district official said, “In these economically difficult times with high prices, we hope children visit nearby parks and enjoy water play freely,” adding, “We will manage facility safety and water quality more thoroughly so residents can enjoy water play safely.”
