The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 12th that traffic congestion is expected in downtown Seoul from the 13th to the 15th due to large-scale rallies held by labor organizations.
The labor organizations plan to hold a large-scale rally along Sejong-daero starting at 1 PM the next day, followed by a march from 4 PM along Jongno and Ujeongguk-ro to Dongsipja Rotary, and along Hangang-daero to Samgakji Rotary.
Additionally, a large-scale rally is scheduled along Sejong-daero at 1 PM on the 14th. On the 15th, from 2 PM, preliminary rallies will be held in various downtown areas including Euljiro 2-ga, Daehak-ro, and Seodaemun, with a march planned from 3 PM heading toward Euljiro Entrance. Both conservative and progressive groups have also planned large-scale rallies and marches along Sejong-daero and various downtown locations.
The police plan to operate reversible lanes between Sejong-daero Intersection and Sungnyemun Intersection during the rally times to maintain traffic flow and minimize inconvenience to citizens. Furthermore, to reduce citizen inconvenience caused by traffic congestion, about 250 traffic police officers will be deployed around the rally and march routes, and traffic management measures such as vehicle detours will be implemented at heavily congested intersections.
