To commemorate the opening of the exhibition hall, the Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters also launched the Youth Firefighting Aviation School on the same day.
The Firefighting Aviation Exhibition Hall displays most of the firefighting helicopters currently in service, including the H-13 which performed aviation EMS missions during the Korean War, the MD500 (named: Kkachi 2-ho), the first firefighting helicopter in Korea registered as a cultural asset, and the BELL-206, the first helicopter of the Gyeonggi Firefighting Aviation Unit.
The Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters operates the 'Youth Firefighting Aviation School' in conjunction with the opening of the Firefighting Aviation Exhibition Hall. It offers tours of the aviation exhibition hall and special rescue equipment for youths aspiring to become firefighters in specialized fields.
The Firefighting School plans to open twice a year in an open house format, providing growing youths with opportunities to experience careers as specialized firefighters.
