Mokpo Coast Guard Conducts Preventive Activities in Preparation for Heavy Rainfall
Vulnerable Area Inspection, Full Effort to Maintain Immediate Response Readiness of Field Departments
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kim Hae-cheol) announced on the 12th that it conducted preventive activities to minimize damage from marine accidents caused by heavy rain.
During the period of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, thunder, and lightning due to a low-pressure trough, Mokpo Maritime Police strengthened inspections of the mooring status of fishing boats in ports and harbors and safety patrols in coastal danger zones to prevent accidents.
They also focused on preventing safety accidents by pre-inspecting lifesaving equipment installed at beaches and seaside areas crowded with vacationers and leisure activity participants.
The Maritime Police plan to maintain close safety management and immediate response readiness of patrol vessels during the heavy rain period, and to continue safety management by controlling vessel departures and providing real-time weather information according to relevant laws when weather warnings are issued.
