Due to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup schedule, matches for the university and general divisions will be held first from the 11th to the 20th, followed by a break. Then, from the 3rd to the 13th of next month, matches for the elementary, middle, and high school divisions will take place.
The competition format consists of a group stage played in a full league format for each division, followed by a knockout tournament for the finals. The teams placing first and second in each group will advance to the final knockout stage.
The county expects that the total number of visitors, including players, officials, and parents, will reach around 10,000, which is anticipated to greatly help revitalize the economy of Bugok Oncheon during the off-season.
County Governor Seong Nak-in said, “I am pleased that the largest women's football tournament in the country has been successfully held in Changnyeong for three consecutive years. This signifies that Changnyeong’s football infrastructure has reached the highest level nationwide.”
