Yangcheon-gu Holds '2023 Parent Cooking Class' on the 10th, Sharing Nutritional Management by Developmental Stage and Picky Eating Prevention Menus for Over 20 Parents of Infants and Toddlers at Daycare Centers
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gijae) announced that on the 10th, it held the '2023 Parent Cooking Class' at the Galsan Culture and Arts Center seminar room, targeting over 20 parents of infants and toddlers at local daycare centers to share nutritional management methods by developmental stage and picky eating prevention menus.
Under the theme "Yangcheon-style Healthy Children's Meals, No Picky Eating," the cooking class featured Yoon Jina, director of the Yangcheon-gu Children's Meal Management Support Center, as the instructor. She lectured on the necessary nutrients by developmental stage during infancy and toddlerhood, daily intake amounts, nutrient content by food, as well as methods to correct picky eating and tips for improving eating habits.
During the subsequent cooking practice session, parents and Mayor Lee Gijae of Yangcheon-gu directly developed picky eating prevention recipes by making ciabatta cucumber sandwiches and potato ice cream using cucumbers, carrots, and potatoes?ingredients commonly rejected by picky eaters.

In addition to this parent cooking class, the district plans to implement various nutrition-specialized projects in the second half of the year through the Yangcheon-gu Children's Meal Management Support Center, including cooking classes and farm experience programs for families with infants and toddlers, as well as eating habit improvement programs for child care centers using picky eating prevention meal kits.
