Imsil-gun to Host 'Aqua Festival' at Cheese Theme Park on the 15th

Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, announced on the 10th that it will hold the ‘2023 Imsil Aqua Festival’ at the Rose Garden Event Square in Imsil Cheese Theme Park from the 15th of this month to the 6th of next month.

The Aqua Festival, a representative summer festival of Imsil, has been promoted since 2017 as part of the Jeollabuk-do flagship tourism site development project.

To revitalize summer tourism at Imsil Cheese Theme Park, a representative tourist destination of Imsil-gun, various outdoor water play facilities have been prepared to help families, students, and diverse tourists forget the heat.

This summer, in preparation for frequent heatwave warnings, the county expanded the water play facilities and enhanced convenience facilities by changing the location within Imsil Cheese Theme Park so that more people can enjoy cool water play.

In particular, to ensure visitor convenience and prevent safety accidents, a total of 36 staff members have been deployed, including 24 water safety personnel, 3 parking and traffic guides, and 9 on-site operation staff, making thorough preparations for the safe operation of the water play facilities.

On weekends, various aqua events such as cultural performances and children’s DJ parties will also be presented for visitors.

The main facilities consist of a large pool, large slides, medium slides, and a pool for toddlers.

Additionally, various convenience facilities such as Mongolian shelters, parasol shelters, showers, changing rooms, and snack bars will be provided for visitor convenience.

The Imsil Aqua Festival operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The general admission fee is 7,000 KRW, and for Imsil residents, it is 5,000 KRW. Visitors receive a 2,000 KRW exchange voucher that can be used both inside the event venue and at stores in Imsil-eup.

County Governor Shim Min said, “I hope many people exhausted by the heatwave during the peak hot season will visit here to enjoy a cool and pleasant summer,” and added, “We will do our best to prepare for the opening so that the facilities can be used safely and comfortably.”

Meanwhile, the Imsil Aqua Festival limits entry to a maximum of 800 people on a first-come, first-served basis, and the county is also thoroughly managing water quality ahead of the water play area’s opening.
