Seoul City Supports Customized Home Repairs for 40 Housing-Vulnerable Households through Public-Private Cooperation
Jugeonhyeop, Daewoo Construction, and Korea Habitat Sign Business Agreement
Seoul City, Daewoo E&C, and Habitat for Humanity Korea have been promoting the 'Public-Private Partnership Project for Improving Housing Conditions of Vulnerable Groups,' and now the Korea Housing Construction Association is joining the effort. This year, customized home repairs will be supported for 50 vulnerable households.
On the 10th, Seoul City announced that it will sign a 'Four-Party Memorandum of Understanding for Improving Housing Conditions of Vulnerable Groups' with the Korea Housing Construction Association, Daewoo E&C, and Habitat for Humanity Korea at Seoul City Hall.
The signing ceremony will be attended by Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, Jung Won-ju, Chairman of Daewoo E&C and concurrently President of the Korea Housing Construction Association, and Yoon Hyung-joo, Chairman of Habitat for Humanity Korea.
Not only Daewoo E&C and Habitat for Humanity Korea, who participated in the pilot project (November 2022 to May 2023), but also the Korea Housing Construction Association will join as a partner for Ansim Donghaeng this year, bringing more vitality to the project.
This year, the sponsorship scale has expanded about fourfold compared to the pilot project, enabling support for approximately 50 households. For households that cannot immediately undergo home repairs, the city plans to provide an 'Ansim Donghaeng Kit' containing natural dehumidifiers and insect repellents to help maintain a comfortable indoor environment.
Daewoo E&C, which has been participating since the pilot project last year, is promoting the 'Improvement of Housing Conditions for Vulnerable Groups' as a flagship corporate social responsibility project by sponsoring the Ansim Donghaeng Housing project budget and providing employee volunteer services.
Habitat for Humanity Korea, which carries out the home repairs, plans to leverage its abundant construction experience this year as well to conduct customized work reflecting the characteristics of household members, and will also support discovering partners who wish to join in sponsoring project funds, goods, and volunteering.
Meanwhile, through the public-private partnership pilot project for improving housing conditions of vulnerable groups, Seoul City has improved the housing environment of a total of nine semi-basement households. Support included overall repairs such as insulation/waterproofing construction, installation of double-glazed windows, replacement of wallpaper and flooring, and repairs of sinks and bathrooms.
