‘Todak Todak Fairy Tale Journey with Dad’ Contest Held by Busan City
From July 10 to August 13, The Second Story of 'Dad's Lullaby'
Creative Fairy Tale Contest: 'A World I Want to Tell My Child'
Busan City will hold the “Todak Todak Dad and Fairy Tale Journey” storytelling audiobook contest from the 10th to August 13.
This contest is designed to activate fathers’ participation in childcare through communication and bonding experiences between dads and children, and to improve positive perceptions within families and society regarding childbirth and parenting, as well as to create a birth-friendly environment.
As part of the “Together Parenting Awareness Improvement Project,” Busan City is producing emotional content that citizens can participate in and relate to, having previously released audio tracks through the 2022 Dad’s Lullaby Contest.
This contest is the second story of Dad’s Lullaby, aiming to produce and release a storytelling audiobook where the imaginations of dads and children become fairy tales.
The contest theme is “the one and only family story I want to tell my child in the world.” Participants can create a story of about 10 minutes on any topic by referring to the core keywords and structure guidelines for original fairy tales.
▲ Stories related to family such as dad’s childhood experiences, memorable family places (Busan), ▲ various topics like areas of interest to children, household habits (manners, picky eating, etc.), ▲ and freely adapted storytelling of old tales related to Busan (folktales, classics, etc.) are all possible.
Participants should express the happy image of a family with children, stories of dads devoted to parenting, and the image of Busan as a city good for having and raising children.
Any dad residing in Busan can apply, and submissions can be made online via Google.
A separate judging committee will conduct the evaluation in August, and the winners will be announced on August 25 through Busan City’s Da(Ga)chi Kiwoom+ website. The award ceremony is scheduled for September 16, and various programs such as audiobook reading sessions will be prepared to present to citizens.
The city will award a total prize of 3.5 million KRW to 10 winners, including a grand prize of 1 million KRW. The grand prize winner and two runners-up will receive certificates from the Mayor of Busan.
Additionally, winners will have the opportunity to participate in audiobook production through recording sessions at a professional studio. The audiobooks produced for each winner will be distributed on specialized platforms.
For the grand prize winner only, a storytelling audiobook video will also be produced. This will be distributed and used as promotional material for public-related organizations involved in “Together Parenting Awareness Improvement.”
