A Drunk 20s Active Police Officer... Also Crashed into Traffic Facilities
An active-duty police officer driving under the influence caused an accident by crashing into a traffic facility and was booked by the police.
The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 7th that they have booked Police Officer A (27), affiliated with the Sangmu District Unit, on charges of hitting a traffic facility while driving under the influence (violation of the Road Traffic Act).
Officer A is accused of crashing his own passenger car into a traffic volume survey controller located at the Ssangchon Station intersection in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, at around 10:40 p.m. the previous day while intoxicated.
At the time of the accident, Officer A's blood alcohol concentration was reported to be 0.096%, which is at the level for license cancellation.
According to the police investigation, Officer A was off duty and had been drinking with acquaintances in the Sangmu district before driving more than 2 km on his way home.
