Real-time Monitoring of Waiting Numbers by Section Available on Dedicated Website
Yongsan-gu (Mayor Park Hee-young) has unified all resident priority parking operations under the Yongsan-gu Facilities Management Corporation starting this month.
The district introduced a new resident priority parking management system and assigned additional dedicated personnel to transfer the allocation tasks from the Dong community centers to the corporation. This integration aims to minimize resident inconvenience and enhance the efficiency of previously divided operations.
In particular, the new management system allows non-face-to-face qualification verification through administrative information sharing, improving the issue of having to submit separate supporting documents.
The newly revamped dedicated resident priority parking website has also enhanced resident convenience by enabling real-time monitoring of the number of waiting applicants by section.
Until now, applications and allocations for resident priority parking were handled by the Dong community centers, while management and operations were the responsibility of the Facilities Management Corporation. The separate service windows caused confusion among residents on site.
Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, stated, “We will continue to carefully examine residents’ inconveniences and do our best to resolve issues,” adding, “Above all, we will actively promote policies that residents can relate to in their daily lives.”
Resident priority parking is a system designed to alleviate severe parking shortages by marking parking spaces on low-traffic residential or commercial neighborhood roads and allowing paid parking for nearby residents or workers.

Due to the affordable monthly parking fee of 40,000 KRW as of the previous day, user satisfaction is high. The district introduced this system in the early 2000s and currently operates about 3,700 parking spaces.
