Gyeonggi-do to Recruit Participants for October 'Rice Baking Contest'... July 10-24
Gyeonggi Province is recruiting participants from the 10th to the 24th of this month for the '2023 National Rice Baking Contest' to be held at KINTEX in Ilsan on October 21.
Hosted by Gyeonggi Province under the theme "Delicious Transformation of Gyeonggi Agricultural Products," this competition aims to develop and promote various products that suit consumer trends through baking using rice and local agricultural products.
Participants can choose to compete in either the Rice Brunch category, which consists of at least one type of bread, or the Rice Dessert category, which includes at least two types of desserts and one beverage.
All adults aged 20 and over nationwide are eligible to participate. The preliminary round will be held on September 4, where 30 teams will be selected to advance to the finals.
Gyeonggi Province will hold the final competition at KINTEX in October and award the Gyeonggi Governor's Prize to outstanding teams. Prizes include 5 million KRW for the Grand Prize, 1.5 million KRW for the Gold Prize, 1 million KRW for the Silver Prize, 600,000 KRW for the Bronze Prize, and 300,000 KRW for the Encouragement Prize. This year, Gyeonggi Province has significantly increased the total prize money from 10 million KRW last year to 14.2 million KRW.
In addition to the contest, Gyeonggi Province will also hold a rice bakery product exhibition and consumer participation events, open to last year's winners, industry professionals, and the general public.
