Enhancing Response Capabilities During Infectious Disease Outbreaks
On the 4th, the Uiryeong Office of Education in Gyeongnam held the '2023 Infectious Disease Crisis Response Drill' in the main conference room, attended by a total of 30 people including infectious disease officers from all standalone kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools, as well as public health center officials.
This drill was conducted with a virtual scenario of a tuberculosis infectious disease outbreak crisis in schools, aiming to block the spread of infectious diseases within the community and schools through systematic response by all members.

Before the drill, Yang Hyeryeon, Deputy Director of the Gyeongsangnam-do Infectious Disease Control Support Group, gave a lecture on the topic of 'Major Infectious Diseases in Gyeongsangnam-do and School Infectious Disease Prevention and Management.' The drill was also conducted through group role assignments, allowing school members to understand their roles and discuss step-by-step response measures.

Choi Misook, the Superintendent of Education, stated, “Schools are spaces where many students live together, so infectious disease prevention and management are most important to prevent in advance and detect early to block group outbreaks.” She added, “Please make efforts to ensure a prompt and systematic response in the event of an actual infectious disease crisis in schools through this drill.”
