MFDS to Conduct Hygiene Inspections at 4,100 Summer Resort Restaurants and More
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 4th that it will conduct intensive hygiene inspections of restaurants and other food establishments in crowded summer vacation spots from the 10th to the 14th.
The inspection targets include approximately 4,100 locations, such as restaurants operating at major summer resorts like water parks, beaches, and valleys, as well as manufacturers producing edible ice, ice cream products, coffee, and other items with high summer consumption.
The main inspection items are ▲ hygienic handling of food ▲ compliance with preservation and storage standards for ingredients ▲ cleanliness of kitchens and cooking utensils ▲ unreported business operations around vacation spots (including operations outside the reported business area) ▲ and for businesses using groundwater, whether periodic water quality tests are conducted.

Additionally, summer high-consumption foods prepared and served at vacation spots, such as naengmyeon (cold noodles), kongguksu (soybean noodles), bingsu (shaved ice dessert), sikhye (sweet rice drink), and cold beverages, will be collected to check for contamination by food poisoning bacteria.
