Gmarket Launches 'Smile Pickup' Stocking Agency Service
Up to 72% Cheaper Compared to Standard Parcel Delivery
Gmarket announced on the 4th that it will relaunch its inbound agency service, which directly picks up sellers' products and stores them at the Smile Delivery logistics center.
Smile Pickup is a service for sellers using Gmarket's next-day combined packaging service, Smile Delivery. Through the comprehensive logistics company Sebang, dedicated transport vehicles and drivers directly collect sellers' products and store them at the Dongtan logistics center. Since the planned volume is received and stored in the logistics center in advance, sellers can reduce inventory burdens.
The usage fee is also up to 72% cheaper compared to general courier inbound services. The size of courier boxes is standardized into five categories, from extra small to extra large, and fees are charged accordingly. Regardless of distance, region, or weight, a uniform fee is applied based on box size, making it reasonable. Another advantage is that pickup and storage at the center can be done on the same day as the inbound application.
The service application process has also been simplified. In the case of the existing milk run, the application process involved applying through Gmarket's Seller Management Service (ESM+), email application, review of usage conditions, and approval. From now on, sellers only need to apply for the Smile Pickup service in ESM+, and the system will automatically register the service depending on the availability of the pickup area.
