Korea Rail Network Authority Holds 'Emergency Situation Assessment Meeting' in Preparation for Heavy Rain
The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 30th that it held an "Emergency Situation Assessment Meeting" chaired by Chairman Kim Han-young at the Disaster Countermeasures Situation Room of the Seoul Metropolitan Headquarters.
The meeting was held to inspect the proactive disaster management system in preparation for the summer heavy rains, as heavy rain was forecasted in most regions nationwide.
At the meeting, Chairman Kim ordered the five regional headquarters?Seoul Metropolitan, Yeongnam, Honam, Chungcheong, and Gangwon?to operate their disaster countermeasures situation rooms continuously, emphasizing that personnel and equipment should be promptly deployed to railway construction sites and areas adjacent to operating lines when emergencies occur due to heavy rain, ensuring rapid recovery of the affected sites.

Chairman Kim stated, "We will closely monitor weather conditions 24 hours a day in preparation for disasters and maintain a swift reporting system," adding, "Along with this, we will strengthen preemptive surveillance activities and systematic responses to ensure thorough proactive disaster management."
