Found Dead After Sleeping... Couple Urgently Arrested for Burying 5-Day-Old Son in Hillside
A couple who buried their 5-day-old infant in a mountain and abandoned the body has been arrested by the police.
The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced on the 30th that at around 10:30 p.m. on the 29th, they urgently apprehended a man in his 20s, Mr. A, and a woman in her 30s, Ms. B, on charges of wrapping their son in a plastic bag and burying him in a mountain.
According to the police, the couple is suspected of wrapping their deceased son in a plastic bag and burying him in a mountain near their residence in Geoje on September 9, 2022.
The two, who were in a common-law relationship, gave birth to a boy named C at an obstetrics and gynecology clinic in Geoje City on September 5 of the same year.
After being discharged four days later and returning home, they found C had died during sleep. Since the child died before the birth was registered, they reportedly buried the body in a nearby mountain.

The police arrested the couple after receiving a report from a public official at the Goseong County Office, where Ms. B resides, and are currently searching to exhume the body of C buried in the mountain.
