Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Rescue Team Member Selected as Lifesaver
Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station announced on the 29th that its rescue team members were selected as Lifesavers for the first half of this year.
The 3rd team (6 members) of the 119 Rescue Team at Gwangsan Fire Station was recognized for their outstanding efforts in saving lives at disaster sites during an awards ceremony hosted by the Gwangju Metropolitan City Fire Safety Headquarters and was selected as Lifesavers.
The Lifesaver system was introduced to boost morale and pride among rescue team members who contribute to saving lives at disaster scenes and to encourage active life-saving activities.
From December last year to May this year, they responded to 404 rescue dispatches and successfully handled 304 rescues. Notably, in February, they safely rescued one person who was electrocuted while working on a utility pole in Hanam-dong, bringing the individual down from the pole to the ground.
