Immediately after taking office for the 8th elected term, Mayor Joo held meetings with 18 organizations and over 350 people to listen to residents’ opinions and reflect them in policies. In February this year, he continued his communication efforts by holding nine sessions of the ‘2023 Gangnam-gu Vision Report Meeting,’ directly explaining major district projects to residents and hearing their suggestions.
On July 3, the first day of his first anniversary, he will start his work at the site of public welfare. At 7:30 AM, he will meet with 10 members of the Saemaeul Disinfection Volunteer Group at Haemaji Park in Samseong-dong to join in park disinfection activities. The Saemaeul Disinfection Volunteer Group, a private disinfection team that conducts mosquito and pest control during summer, consists of about 50 members divided into 16 teams, disinfecting 80 schools and 112 parks every morning. After the disinfection activities, he plans to listen to residents’ stories at the Samseong Pavilion inside the park.
At 7:30 PM, he will visit the Yeongdong Market Food Alley area. A joint patrol involving about 20 participants, including leaders and members of the Nonhyeon 1-dong functional organizations and police officers from Nonhyeon 1 Police Station, will take place to lead efforts to eradicate illegal promotional flyers. To completely eliminate illegal promotional flyers, the district has increased joint police crackdowns to more than twice a week and expanded the number of district enforcement personnel to conduct regular day and night crackdowns. Local residents have also formed voluntary councils to conduct campaigns twice a month and collect flyers, actively maintaining the cleanliness of the streets.
