Changwon Facilities Corporation, "Cool Off from the Heat at the Ice Rink"
Uichang·Seongsan Sports Center July-August
Free Admission to Spectator Seats for 2 Months
Changwon Facilities Corporation in Gyeongnam will open the spectator seats of Uichang Sports Center and Seongsan Sports Center ice rinks as “Cool Shelters” free of charge to help citizens manage their health during the summer.
The corporation plans to open the ice rinks, which are always maintained at low temperatures, so that citizens exhausted from the heat can enjoy their summer break by watching people skate from the spectator seats.
The Cool Shelter operation period is from July 1 to August 31 for two months. The operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.
The ice rink spectator seats have 372 seats at Uichang Sports Center and 205 seats at Seongsan Sports Center. Since the average temperature is around 7 to 8 degrees Celsius, it is recommended to bring outerwear as there is a risk of catching a cold if used for a long time. However, ice rink users must purchase admission tickets.
