Two Additional Underwater Search Dogs Deployed from Junggubon Unit
A woman in her 60s who went to operate a sluice gate in heavy rain to perform official duties has gone missing, causing sorrow.
According to the fire department on the 28th, Oh Mo (67), residing in Eomda-myeon, Hampyeong-gun, went out with her husband around 10:30 PM the previous day to check the sluice gate of the Eomda Stream irrigation canal.
Mr. and Mrs. Oh are sluice gate managers commissioned by the Korea Rural Community Corporation. They reportedly went out to open the sluice gate due to concerns about flooding of nearby farmland caused by the river overflowing.
Currently, about 500 personnel from the fire department, police, and local governments, along with 18 pieces of equipment and the Jeonnam and Honam special rescue teams, are conducting search operations divided into eight sections.
