Ulsan Office of Education Hosts 2022 Revised Curriculum General Training
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will support teacher capacity building to enhance understanding of the 2022 Revised Curriculum General Principles, which will be gradually applied starting from elementary schools next year.
On the 28th, the Ulsan Office of Education conducted training for 307 key teachers by school level from the 3rd region (Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam) at the Munsu Convention Wedding Hall in Nam-gu.
Hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education, this training featured a special lecture by Joo-yeon Lee, Director of the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, on the topic of "Directions of the 2022 Revised Curriculum."
Following the special lecture, the training proceeded by dividing participants by school level to explore the new curriculum by school level, discuss key issues related to school application, review the draft of the curriculum guide, and hold subgroup discussions on development directions.
The 2022 Revised Curriculum will be applied sequentially: grades 1-2 in elementary school in the 2024 academic year; grades 3-4 in elementary school, grade 1 in middle school, and grade 1 in high school in the 2025 academic year; grades 5-6 in elementary school, grade 2 in middle school, and grade 2 in high school in the 2026 academic year; and grade 3 in middle school and grade 3 in high school in the 2027 academic year.
Han Sang-cheol, Director of the Education Bureau, stated, "Understanding the general principles of the 2022 Revised Curriculum, which will be applied to all school levels starting with grades 1-2 in elementary school in the 2024 academic year, is an urgent task."

He added, "We will support the establishment of the 2022 Revised Curriculum in individual schools through teacher capacity-building training, development and distribution of materials, and prepare education that aligns learning with life and opens the future."
