300 Gangnam Residents Challenge Healthy Walking for the Month of July
Using the Walk ON App ▲Barefoot Walking from Daemosan to Guryongsan ▲100,000 Steps in 10 Days ▲Walking Along the Binggeulbinggeul Path
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seongmyeong) will hold three walking challenges throughout July using the Walk ON app to encourage residents to walk for their health.
From July 3 to 9, the ‘Barefoot Walking from Daemosan to Guryongsan’ challenge will begin. Starting at Exit 6 of Suseo Station, participants complete a stamp course of about 7 km that passes Daemosan Peak, Guryongsan Peak, and the National Research Foundation of Korea. Successfully completing the course means the challenge is accomplished. Reservations can be made through the Walk ON app from July 28 to 30 to participate.
From July 10 to 19, the ‘100,000 Steps in 10 Days’ challenge will take place. Participants succeed by walking 12,000 steps daily in a regular routine. Then, on July 22 and 23, the ‘Walking Along the Binggeulbinggeul Path’ challenge will be held, where participants walk a designated course of about 7.7 km between Yeoksam Station and Seolleung Station. Each challenge will recruit 100 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, totaling 300 participants.
Residents who successfully complete at least one of the three missions will receive a tumbler pouch and sun stick as gifts. These will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 100 visitors to the Health Promotion Support Office on the 3rd floor of the Health Center from July 24 to 26.
