At the Jang-dong Complex Sports Town athletic field site, a total project cost of 142.1 billion KRW, including 18 billion KRW in national funding, will be invested by the end of 2025 to build a Class 1 athletics stadium and baseball field.
The city plans to accelerate the development of the existing comprehensive stadium site into a MICE industry cluster by first establishing the athletics stadium and baseball field, which are prerequisites for the comprehensive stadium site development, making it a driving force for Jeonju's growth.
Additionally, the Jeonju World Cup Stadium area is expected to be developed into a complex sports town with an international-standard soccer stadium, athletics stadium, baseball field, indoor gymnasium, and drone sports complex center. It is anticipated to become a place where citizens can enjoy high-quality sports events as well as recreational and leisure sports.

The basement will contain mechanical rooms, indoor practice rooms, locker rooms, and electrical rooms. The first floor will include convenience facilities and tournament operation offices. Prior to this, the city began administrative procedures such as land acquisition starting in 2019 and completing detailed design services to build replacement facilities due to the comprehensive stadium site development.
