Nine Organizations Unite to Promote Blood Donation Culture! ... Busan City Holds 'Blood Donation Promotion Council for the First Half of This Year'
Busan City will hold the ‘2023 First Half Blood Donation Promotion Council’ at 3 p.m. on the 27th in the meeting room on the 3rd floor of City Hall.
The ‘Blood Donation Promotion Council’ is a council established to stabilize blood supply and demand, promote blood donation, and foster a culture of blood donation. Since 2017, Busan City has operated the council once each in the first and second halves of the year, with a total of nine organizations participating, including the city, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Busan Blood Center.
The nine participating organizations are Busan City, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, Army 53rd Division, Naval Operations Command, Air Force 5th Air Mobility Wing, Busan National University Hospital, Busan Blood Center, and Busan Transportation Corporation (newly added).
At this first half council meeting, representatives from the participating organizations will attend to discuss ▲ explanations from Busan City and Busan Blood Center regarding this year’s blood donation projects and ▲ agenda items and proposals from each participating organization for blood donation activation and donor appreciation.
In particular, starting from this first half council meeting, ‘Busan Transportation Corporation’ will also participate as a member, which is expected to greatly contribute to spreading the blood donation culture using urban railways and other means.
So far, the city has contributed significantly to blood donation activation and donor appreciation through the council. Especially last year, the participating organizations united to provide commemorative gifts to multi-time donors who donated more than 100 times and to repeat donors.
Also, as the COVID-19 crisis level has been downgraded, blood supply and demand are expected to stabilize, and through this council meeting, the promotion of group blood donations within each participating organization will be positively discussed.
