Busan Gijang-gun Conducts Medical Volunteer Service 'Health Dream' for Vulnerable Health Groups
Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) held the ‘Health (Dream) Dream’ event on the 21st, where the Gijang-gun Community Security Council visited Jeonggwan New Town Humansia Complex 1 to provide various health care services to vulnerable groups.
The event was attended by 104 participants, including the Gijang-gun Public Health Center (Oral Health Center, Dementia Safety Center, Gijang-gun Mental Health Welfare Center), affiliated organizations of the Gijang-gun Community Security Council such as Haeundae Paik Hospital, Gijang Hospital, National Health Insurance Service Gijang Branch, and workers and volunteers from Ilgwang Senior Welfare Center.
High-quality medical services were provided to seniors aged 65 and over, Sakhalin permanent residents returning to Korea, and people with disabilities, including orthopedics, dermatology, ophthalmology, tuberculosis testing, blood tests, oral examinations, dementia prevention education, depression screening, and chronic disease counseling.
In particular, the Gijang-gun Public Health Center Oral Health Center conducted oral examinations and consultations, applied fluoride varnish to strengthen teeth and inhibit bacterial growth, performed ultrasonic cleaning of dentures, provided customized oral health education, and distributed fluoride solutions and oral hygiene products. The Dementia Safety Center and Mental Health Welfare Center also conducted depression screenings and dementia prevention promotions.
